We had such a fun day browsing all the cute shops, learning about Japanese culture and eating lots of good food. I was pleased to find so many red bean treats as well as hot plum wine. We even played some old school video games. If you&#8217;re a fan of all things Japanese then the next event will be in the summer time. If you&#8217;re heading to a Hyper Japan event then my video should give you a little idea of what to expect. We went on the Friday which was the first day it opened. It wasn&#8217;t overly busy but Rachel says that at the weekend it gets super busy and it&#8217;s good to\u00a0arrive\u00a0early.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4682\/39000809312_912a7eb0e8_b.jpg\" alt=\"gudetama christmas hyper japan\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There were lots of independent businesses and boutiques there and I&#8217;m hoping to get a few of them involved with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prettygreentea.com\/category\/behind-the-biz\">my Behind the Biz series<\/a>. There was also a big Sanrio shop which I loved and of course, it was filled with lots of\u00a0gudetama goodies &#8211; you can see him sitting in the Christmas tree.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a title=\"Drinks at Hyper Japan\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/daisyhatami\/25166295208\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4544\/25166295208_fcef623199_b.jpg\" alt=\"Drinks at Hyper Japan\" width=\"1024\" height=\"430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">During the late afternoon it got\u00a0<em>really\u00a0<\/em>cold and the hot plum wine went down a treat. They also had chocolate, matcha and vanilla fillings. They were so beautiful to walk under. The lanterns are displayed at Yanai Goldfish Lantern Festival in Yanai, Yamaguchi Prefecture. You must google the festival, hit images and have a browse!
