I don’t think I’ve dedicated a post to our new home yet, I’ll have to do that later this week. I’ve talked about it a lot over on Instagram<\/a> and shared some inspiration posts about potential blinds<\/a> and kitchen flooring<\/a> here on PGT. I’m keen to share renovation projects and little corners of our lovely new home with you over the next few months.<\/p>\n

Today I’m here to share a closer look at our lovely pastel blue dining chairs. I’ve always loved pastel colours and knew I wanted to incorporate them into our next home, even before we’d found a house.<\/p>\n

\"Lakeland<\/a><\/p>\n

Just before we moved house the lovely folk at Lakeland Furniture<\/a> got in contact and asked if I’d like to collaborate on a post with them. I love home decor and knew that once we’d moved I’d be keen to get back into the swing of my House & Home posts<\/a>. So, I checked out their website and was delighted to find that they had a fab selection of mid-century modern inspired furniture. As soon as I spotted the Jacob dining chairs<\/a> I knew those were the chairs I wanted in my kitchen.<\/p>\n

Although we weren’t moving for a couple of months the team at Lakeland Furniture were very accommodating.\u00a0The chairs arrived in just a couple of days. Very quick delivery!\u00a0They were packaged well and we were able to transport the two big boxes (containing 4 chairs<\/em>) easily to our new home. Once we’d unpacked everything we simply needed to screw the base to the legs of the chairs. This didn’t take long at all and was very straightforward.\u00a0We had our lovely new chairs up and ready to go in no time at all.<\/p>\n

\"Pastel<\/a><\/p>\n

I adore the colour selection available for the Jacob chairs. You can pick between beech and walnut legs for the chairs. I adore the walnut legs but I didn’t think they’d work as well as I’d like in our current kitchen. I opted for the beech legs and the pastel blue seats. I’m very happy with the blue chairs we picked out. They’re a lovely shade of pastel blue without being to pale. They fit well with our pastel colour scheme in the kitchen and compliment the grey flooring and cupboards well (there a little too much grey in the kitchen so we’re working to break it up)<\/em>.\u00a0<\/em>You can also mix and match the colours of the chairs. I think this is a really fun idea and if\u00a0we were to add 2 more chairs in the future I’d opt for pink or yellow to add a playful touch to the room.<\/p>\n

What I love most about our Jacob chairs, aside from the colour is that they’re lightweight and easy to move. We’re always changing up our layout and moving things around for film and photography purposes. It’s important for us to\u00a0have furniture which lends itself well to that. The chairs are also very easy to keep clean and can be wiped down with a damp cloth.<\/p>\n

The real test for these pastel beauties was comfort.\u00a0We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, it’s the hub of our house. We cook, work and hang out with friends there. Comfortable chairs are essential. After working at my kitchen table a lot over the last couple of months I can confirm that these ones are excellent. I don’t get tired of sitting on them and they even make me sit up straight which is always a bonus.<\/p>\n

We’re keen to change up our dining table soon but for now this one has been really useful. It’s two Ikea tables pushed together with a Persian tablecloth on top. I love a good tablecloth, they really make the room feel much more homely. I’ve got my eye on this lovely Cath Kidston ice lolly one<\/a>\u00a0next. We can pull our kitchen tables apart for work and move them easily into the corner or the middle of the kitchen. In the future we’d like to get something a little larger and perhaps one with hairpin\u00a0<\/em>legs. <\/em>I really do love the mid-century modern look.\u00a0We’re quite fussy so we aren’t rushing our decision. Getting the interior of this house right is important to us and it’s also a really fun process. I’ll be sure to let you know when we find something new.<\/p>\n
