Back on the 7th June I took part in the\u00a0Sporting Light Appeal<\/a>\u00a0Coastal Walk. The\u00a0challenge\u00a0was to walk 47 miles in 24 hours – I think we managed it in something like 19 hours. A few of us from work did the extreme version, this is where you don’t sleep and instead walk through the night. If any of you ever think about doing this walk then I\u00a0recommend\u00a0doing the version where you get a few hours sleep – your body will thank you for it!<\/p>\n

I do a lot of walking on a daily basis and when I’m in my usual routine I get to the gym about 3\/4 times a week (I’ve been out of that routine since the walk though). Miss Lola B <\/a>and I went on a few practice walks, the most we got up to was about 17 miles. There isn’t much that can prepare you for the real thing though.<\/p>\n

I know it’s been a while since I did the walk but I thought it was about time to share a few photos I took on the walk. I’d love to go back to some parts of the route we did and take my camera – there are some lovely places on the Norfolk coast. It was quite hard to get any good photos via my phone as we didn’t really have chance to stop and when we did it was mostly for a quick change of socks and to check for blisters.\u00a0There is also a little\u00a0video on YouTube<\/a>\u00a0if you fancy checking it out,\u00a0I’m the one in the silly blue hat.<\/p>\n

The Grove <\/a>kindly provided a delicious breakfast when we all arrived in Cromer.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get any blisters form the walk but I do have some injuries to my foot and knee which come back on and off, usually when I’ve been walking a lot or had a long gym session. Overall it was\u00a0hard-work but for a very good cause -you can find out more about the charity in this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n
