If you read my last travel post<\/a> or follow me on Snapchat (pgtdaisy<\/em>) and Instagram<\/a>\u00a0you’ll know that I spent the last week in Berlin. On the day I was set to return to the UK I handed over my ticket and waited for my boarding pass. I noticed the girl looking a little confused, she then looked very confused, shook her head and handed back my boarding pass. It turns out that\u00a0was not the day I was to fly back to the UK. Everyone else was going to head back but not me. I was booked onto a plane the following day (same time, same flight number but a different day<\/em>).<\/p>\n

After a few tears from the shock I pulled myself together waved goodbye to everyone else and started to ring ’round hotels by the airport. Luckily they were all full. This meant I had the perfect excuse to head back to the centre of Berlin, grab a hotel room and spend an extra day adventuring around the city. Fantastic!<\/p>\n

So, I made my way to the Holiday Inn. A brand I obviously knew of but had never stayed with. I figured the rooms would be satisfactory, I’d be right in the centre with lots to do and the excellent public transport would be close by for the following day.<\/p>\n

The Holiday Inn exceeded<\/em> my expectations.\u00a0The staff were very friendly and welcoming on my arrival and within 10 minutes I had the key to my room and up I went. I’d been a little worried that I’d have to wheel my case around for the day so it was nice to be able to use my room straight away. I unpacked, put my face on and headed out into the city.<\/p>\n

I was delighted with my room. It was on the top floor and classed as a single room but would have been perfect for 2 people. There was a cosy sitting corner with a coffee table, a desk and then a big double bed with a selection of pillows. The mattress\u00a0was very comfortable. A TV appeared\u00a0from within the bed but I didn’t need to use it on this trip. I was mostly fixed to my iPad in the evening getting some work done. Oh yes, the all important wifi! It’s free for up to 4 devices and I found it was pretty quick and even worked fine to watch YouTube videos.<\/p>\n

The room was a little rough\u00a0around the edges but nothing major. Mostly from bumps with a suitcase or something similar. The room was very<\/em> clean as was the bathroom. A power shower, selection of toiletries and towels were all concealed with a sliding door.
