It was my first time visiting the city and I was very pleased to be able to fit lots of activities into the week. On the first day <a href=\"http:\/\/bjuice.de\/\">we stumbled upon bJuice<\/a>, the best cold pressed juice bar in Berlin. I went for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a fiery little number with<b>\u00a0ginger, mint, pineapple and jalape\u00f1o.\u00a0<\/b>I\u2019ve already recreated it at home. We went back to this place a few times throughout the trip because the juice was delicious and the customer service was brilliant. After a waltz \u2018round the park and Bio Market we enjoyed good wifi (work time) and delicious coffee at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.elbspeicherb.de\/\">Elbspeicher B<\/a><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That evening we all headed to A<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lexanderplatz where we sipped on mulled wine and waddled about in search of some food. A few of the team headed up the TV tower. On Thursday we headed out early, grabbed a coffee from <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/lorchundsoehne.de\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lorch &amp; S\u00f6hne<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (the best during the trip) and made our way to\u00a0<\/span><b>Brandenburg Gate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the free tour. At the end of the tour you simply tip as you see fit. We were very lucky and had a passionate and knowledgeable tour leader to take us \u2018round Berlin. Don\u2019t worry, I\u2019ll be sharing a full review on this.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><a title=\"berlin-breakfast-fruit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/daisyhatami\/21619818043\/in\/album-72157657562771413\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5791\/21619818043_ba9a90186b_k.jpg\" alt=\"berlin-breakfast-fruit\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"berlin-memorial\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/daisyhatami\/21619815673\/in\/album-72157657562771413\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5772\/21619815673_75d019746f_k.jpg\" alt=\"berlin-memorial\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following day we enjoyed brunch at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafe-anna-blume.de\/en.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anna Blume<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is a big cafe linked to a beautiful flower shop.\u00a0<\/span>We then made our way to the Holocaust Memorial &#8211; <em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It becomes more overwhelming the further you walk within the memorial. The underground information centre is heartbreaking but important to visit. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" type=\"mce-no\/type\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><a title=\"Berlin-chocolate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/daisyhatami\/22052802800\/in\/album-72157657562771413\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5630\/22052802800_b1d2784636_k.jpg\" alt=\"Berlin-chocolate\" width=\"1365\" height=\"2048\" \/> <\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We stopped off at <a href=\"https:\/\/fassbender-rausch.de\/en\/\">Fassbender &amp; Rausch<\/a> chocolate shop, cafe and restaurant. Phil and I shared a cake and a hot chocolate both of which were delicious. This was the main reason for the trip, Phil was working there and I\u2019d been invited to tag along for the week. I really enjoyed experiencing my first Maker faire. It\u2019s not something I would have gone to otherwise but I found it very interesting. I can\u2019t wait to tell you more about this place. It\u2019s a must visit if you happen to be in Berlin. After breakfast the aim of the day was to visit <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.co-berlin.org\/en\/amerika-haus\">Amerika Haus<\/a> for the Eyes Wide Open exhibition. The exhibition tells the story of 100 years of Leica photography. I really enjoyed this exhibition and would love to go back and see it again. As with everything else I\u2019ve mentioned, a full and detailed post is soon to come. <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the museum we decided to join a few of the others in the zoo. At first I was a little hesitant but decided to give it a try. That was a big mistake. The surroundings are beautiful but many of the animals are in small cages and showed stereotypic behaviour. I&#8217;ve heard that they&#8217;re renovating the zoo. I hope this is true because I left feeling very sad for the animals we had seen. I may dedicate a full post to this.<\/span> I managed to drop my camera whilst looking at the poor brown bear pacing his enclosure. We took this as a sign to leave and headed over to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikiniberlin.de\/\">Bikini Berlin shopping<\/a>\u00a0centre. We met up with C to reflect on our visit to the zoo. We then met up with Connor and made our way to the boat tour. We\u2019d had beautiful weather throughout the week but on this final day we started to see a little rain and colder weather. We wrapped up in fleecy blankets and relaxed as the boat guided us around all the important buildings.<\/p>\n<p><em>On Wednesday morning we headed to the airport.
