If you happen to find yourself in Sheffield city centre then I’ve got you sorted for\u00a0coffee. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to narrow down\u00a0the best places for a flat white and I think it’s about time that I share them. I won’t be including any major high-street names in this list because you can usually locate those easily and you all know what to expect from them. Instead\u00a0this list will focus on the smaller coffee shops that serve up top notch coffee in the centre of Sheffield.<\/p>\n

I know what it’s like to find yourself in a new city with no idea where to stop for coffee. I hope my list of coffee shops will give you somewhere to grab your takeout before a meeting\u00a0or perhaps sit in\u00a0and enjoy the decor and sip your coffee over your morning paper.<\/p>\n

Let’s get on with the list:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

– Tamper Coffee<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Screen<\/a><\/p>\n

Tamper<\/a> bring a slice of the New Zealand’s caf\u00e9 culture to Sheffield. They have\u00a02 locations; Sellers Wheel<\/em> and Westfield Terrace<\/em>. The former is my favourite in terms of location. It’s a short walk to my co-working space and just a 5 minute walk from\u00a0the train station.<\/p>\n

I love the coffee here. I always go for an almond milk flat white or if I fancy something a little longer I’ll opt for a\u00a0cappuccino. You can take your coffee away or enjoy it inside where the\u00a0caf\u00e9 is beautifully decorated with\u00a0wooden tables, plants and flowers.<\/p>\n

They also offer a delicious selection of food. I often meet my grandma here for brunch and I always go for the Eggs Benedict.<\/p>\n

The branch at\u00a0Westfield Terrace\u00a0<\/em>offer more of a cosy atmosphere with a small selection of food, cakes and coffes. It’s a tiny little coffee shop but it’s always full of life and friendly people.<\/p>\n

– HowSt<\/b><\/p>\n

\"Howst<\/a><\/p>\n

HowSt<\/a> is just around the corner from Tamper and is very easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. It was formerly known as\u00a0Roast but recently has been given\u00a0a new lease of life. It’s situated on Howard St, opposite the uni and very short walk\u00a0from the station on your way into the city.<\/p>\n

HowSt serve up a deliciously smooth coffee with the option of soya milk. If you fancy something a little different then give the Espresso Fizz a try. It’s a double shot of espresso topped with soda and lots of ice.<\/p>\n

HowSt also offer a good menu with brunch and evening meals. I’ve tried their poached eggs with avocado on toast (of course I have<\/em>) and it was fantastic. It’s hard to get poached eggs right but these guys do it so well.\u00a0They also do excellent sweet potato chips and I’m keen to try the veggie burger next time. I like that you can see into the kitchen as the hard working and friendly chef makes your food.<\/p>\n

– Steam Yard \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Steam Yard<\/a> is located on Division Street, tucked away in Aberdeen Court. They offer a wide selection of hot drinks but as you can imagine, I always opt for the coffee. We don’t find ourselves at this part of the town often but when we do we always make sure we stop by for coffee and cake. Phil’s is a big fan of their donuts.<\/p>\n

It’s a small coffee shop but the layout makes it feel spacious and relaxed. In the summer you can sit outside, although we haven’t had much of a summer yet.<\/p>\n

– Marmadukes Cafe Deli –\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marmadukes Cafe Deli<\/a>\u00a0can be found on Norfolk Row. It’s right in the middle of town, just ’round the corner from H&M.\u00a0They serve up a mean flat white and I like that they alternate between their roasters so there’s usually a new coffee to try.<\/p>\n

Marmadukes also offer full breakfast, lunch and brunch menu. I highly rate their deli sandwiches and their constantly changing\u00a0selection of cakes. The entrance to the cafe can get very busy, there’s a lot going on. However, I encourage you to venture further inside. It has a very rustic feel with wooden tables, fresh white walls and industrial lighting.<\/p>\n

– Nourish<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nourish<\/a> is not your usual coffee shop but I wanted to include it in this list because it’s one I go to a few times a week. Nourish can be found on Pinstone St opposite the Peace Gardens.<\/p>\n

I recently started working at a co-working space and I often like to treat myself to breakfast or lunch from Nourish. They offer a wide variety of healthy food options and my current favourite has got to be their Eggs No Toast, it’s a real treat in the morning. Alongside my food I always<\/em> get a coffee with almond milk. The drinks are reasonably priced and\u00a0never let me down. I often pop in for a takeout coffee when I’m running errands around town.<\/p>\n

The interior is very clean and fresh with a relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n

If you’re keen to venture a little further out of the city centre then\u00a0Bragazzis<\/a>\u00a0is well worth visiting.<\/p>\n
