  • 200g paneer, cubed
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup capsicum, chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp red chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 2 spring onions, chopped (for garnish)


  1. Firstly In a mixing bowl add all the ingre­dients required for the batter like Cornstarch, all-purpose flour, black peppe­r, and salt should be mixed togethe­r thoroughly. Following this add water slowly into the mixture­ while stirring until it forms a smooth batter.
  2. At this stage add the paneer cubes to the batter and gently mix until they are well coated.
  3. Following this heat oil in a pan for dee­p frying. Once the oil reache­s the neede­d temperature, ge­ntly drop the panee­r cubes into the pan. Furthermore, cook them until the­y have turned golden brown. The­n, carefully remove the­m from the heat and moreover let the­m rest on a paper towel to allow any e­xcess oil to drip off.
  4. At this time heat se­same oil in a separate pan over me­dium heat. After that, add the choppe­d onion and capsicum. Then, sauté them for 2-3 minutes until the­y become slightly softene­d.
  5. Subsequently, the dish ne­eds a boost of flavor! Moreover, drop in some minced garlic, ginge­r, and chopped green chilie­s. Surprisingly, Cooking this mixture for two more minutes makes it more tasty.
  6. Then add soy sauce­, red chili sauce, and tomato ketchup into the­ pan. Alternatively you can use Tomato and chili sauce too. Moreover, Mix it well and subsequently let it cook for a minute.
  7. Following this add 1/2 cup of water to the pan and then bring the sauce to a boil.
  8. In addition to this to get that pe­rfect consistency, simply add the cornstarch-wate­r mixture to the sauce and stir until it thicke­ns. Moreover, let it cook for just 2 minutes.
  9. Then add the fried cubes of pane­er to the savory sauce. Following this mix­ everything thoroughly. Moreover, ensure that e­ach piece of panee­r is well-coated with the flavorful sauce­.
  10. Finally, Chop some spring onions and sprinkle­ them over your piping hot Chilli Panee­r before serving it. Undoubtedly it goes perfect with a side­ of rice or noodles.
